Swarm Removal

Honeybees are inclined to reproduce each Spring and early Summer by dividing into two or more colonies, with the new colony flying in search of a new home.  These swarms of bees will land temporarily, whether for an hour or a couple of days, and then fly again to seek a permanent home.

Honeybee swarms hanging from low tree branches can often be safely and easily removed by most beekeepers. Established honeybee colonies inside walls often require more time, construction skills, and equipment.  Permanent removal of honeybee colonies from inside tree trunks is often difficult without cutting down the tree and may have special requirements, such as permits or insurance.

Swarm Removal List

The Kansas Honey Producers Association does not endorse any individual or business listed below. These members have expressed interest in catching swarms of honey bees and/or removing honey bees from structures in the state of Kansas. Each beekeeper will have their own limitations and requirements. It is strongly suggested to discuss expectations, costs and liabilities before having someone remove bees on your property.

If you are a current KHPA member who would like to be added to this list, please fill out this form.
